- What attracted you to LegalShield over other opportunities out there? Share your story.
I wasn’t looking for LegalShiled, LegalShield found me. I was a mid-career IT professional going on about my daily life when I was presented the opportunity to make a few hundred dollars on the side. Prior to this I was involved in several other business opportunities and never made any money. This left me very skeptical. At that time I didn’t take the information seriously. The more research I did, the more interesting the company seem. I requested to meet real successful people in LegalShield and was presented them without resistance. This was new to me because my other business experiences were lacking that. I like to say that I came to LegalShield for the money but stayed for the love. Over the past seven years my organization has helped close to a thousand families with legal service plans and identity theft protection plans.
- What aspects of legal advice can you offer through their platform, tell us more about it and what you do?
Our core belief is justice for all. We believe that everyone deserves legal protection. We cover every area of law, everything from the trivial to the traumatic. Simply put we do for legal fees and attorney bills what HMO’s (health insurance) do for hospital fees and doctor bills. We offer family plans that cover the entire family, small business plans that cover the business owner and the employees, commercial driver legal plan and identity theft plans. We enjoy helping people, especially the families that believe they have been priced out of the system.
- How have you gone about recruiting others to join you for this opportunity and what’s working for you?
Our recruiting efforts have been centered around our sphere of influence. Now more than ever North American families need our help. They have nowhere else to turn. Many people would purchase our service but they don’t even know that these services exist. We are expanding our recruiting efforts nationwide and in Canada. - What are some of the biggest challenges most new people starting out in LegalShield face when trying to grow?
The number one challenge new associates face when starting out with LegalShield adhering to the simple system that we encourage them to follow. Our system is called the 10 core commitments. This provides all associates a basis for operating their businesses. Most new associates have never been involved in owning a business before, so we have to teach them how to think like a business owner and not a consumer. We spend a lot of time managing expectations; this is not a get rich quick scheme, there is work involved. Building a successful business takes time and effort. If something sounds too good to be true or promises you overnight success then you should turn and run. The opportunity is real for those who choose to follow the 10 core commitments. I have never seen anyone in LegalShield that have become successful without doing all ten steps. Clue: Success leaves footprints. We are not looking for innovators, we have a proven system.
- What are your future plans for 2014 and beyond?
This has been the most exciting year of my tenure. Organizational sales and recruiting are up and the team is stronger than ever. Our goal is to continue to share this membership with everyone that we meet. We know that everyone will have some form of legal coverage in the near future and my team and I would love to be the one that protect your family.
